Mobile phones could use either a wireless phone case that features the receiver coil and plugs into the phone’s charging port or a built-in wireless charging on the mobile phone.

Wireless charging on new mobile phones features the built-in wireless charging option with their own receiver coil which is connected to the battery pack that picks up the magnetic field.

Wireless charging on mobile phones is now the core evolution of smartphone development. The standard system with wireless charging function used by Samsung on the Galaxy S8 was the benchmark for the wireless charging trend with the iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL following afterwards.

To support wireless fast charging which greatly enhances the charging rate most new mobile phones use wireless charging transmitter system with 10W transmissible power, while heat dissipation performs excellently. Mobile phones can be completely full of powered to meet the daily office needs with wireless charging.

The two mainstream wireless charging standards available are the WPC and Airfuel. Technical route based on magnetic induction and magnetic resonance.

The first established standards organization is WPC, the main participants are Samsung, TI and other large companies, there are a series of industrial alliances, while are the most popular standards on the market at present. It is not new technology and it was used many years ago on the Panasonic electric razor. Today, Apple, Huawei and other major smartphone manufacturers have started wireless charging function

Currently, the biggest problem with the WPC standard Qi protocol is that its technology requires the terminal to be aimed at the base of the wireless charger, the wireless charging only works when the transmitter and the receiver are accurately aligned, which is the biggest technical barrier to wireless charging leads to unfriendly user experience at present.

Does the wireless charger work with the case when accurately aligned?

Most wireless charger does work with a case when accurately aligned. Furthermore, a metal material case or too thick case can affect the magnetic transmission function that lowers the wireless charging rate.

For iPhone 8 or iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8 wireless charger and Pixel 2 XL work better with a case

Wireless Mobile Phone Charging Station

Following the convenience factor and the widely accepted Qi standard, any Qi wireless charger will work with any mobile phone with Qi-certified. As a result, the wireless charger will work with current and new mobile phones.

Wireless charging or the conventional charger would not make your mobile phone work any differently however, it can change the way you use it.

Chargezone wireless charging locker

How does a locker wireless phone charging kiosk works

The locker wireless phone charging kiosk still needs a wire however, the difference is that the wire is connected to a charging base instead of a mobile phone, so you can just drop your For iPhone 8 or iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8 wireless charger and Pixel 2 XL onto the wireless charger and things get to work without hooking anything up to your mobile phone.

The wireless charging is not as fast as the standard conventional charging, however, it’s easy and more likely used to keep your phone topped off.

The locker wireless phone charging kiosk uses two resonant inductive couplings to transmit low-power signals between two devices. They are specially designed to transmit electricity without touching each other like a normal wired connection does.

The base plate, which is plugged into the mains through its own power supply, has a transmitter coil and your phone has a receiver coil. The base station regularly sends a signal out, and when a receiver coil gets close enough, a resonance change (the base station changes the amplitude of its oscillation — it vibrates faster) happens in the signal. The waveform of the signal is then modulated (changed to let the coil in the phone know power is being sent) and inductive charging begins.

Inductive charging uses those two specially designed electromagnetic coils to create a magnetic field between two devices. There is an intricate process involved that allows a magnetic field to produce electricity through the difference of potential and oscillation. Oscillation is a timed repetitive variation, and in the case of an electromagnetic coil, you can think of it as vibration.

The coil in your iPhone 8 or iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8 wireless charger, and Pixel 2 XL is also connected to the battery charging circuit, and your battery is charged using the energy induced by the magnetic field.

Electromagnetic induction works if you move an electrically conductive material, like a coil or winding, in the presence of a magnetic field you make electrons flow. Things like a gas-powered generator also “create” electricity by using mechanical energy to create EMF (electromotive force).
